Workshop Brief

We’d like to invite you to a 90-minute workshop to talk through your ideas and thoughts on how to create the Furbnow product. We would love to hear what you think about the following areas:

— Product strategy

(what would you prioritise & why, metrics to focus on, process)

— Tech strategy

(systems architecture, what can be off-the-shelf vs developed in-house)

— Team

(what skills to we need to get this to market, what should the shape of the team look like in the coming year)

Please think through your proposed approach ahead of our workshop and feel free to present your thoughts in whichever format you are most comfortable with. Including yourself, there will be four people in the workshop: XYZ

Context

Company Overview

Furbnow is a retrofit service for homeowners looking to start their journey to reducing their energy bills and carbon emissions, and having a warmer home. Customers want impartial advice and clear information on what will work for their home and lifestyle, how they can stage the work to fit their budget and plan disruption. They want help finding installers and knowledge that they have support if something goes wrong.

Furbnow helps homeowners with a service that:

provides a whole home retrofit plan to achieve your goals for your home gets them underway with their project: connecting homeowners with trustworthy installers, providing a contract, providing a warranty for the work and a Retrofit Coordinator to oversee the project

monitoring energy performance to see how the project has affected your energy and provide annual inspection of any work completed

The retrofit market is fragmented, with multiple companies in different stages of the supply chain but none providing an integrated managed service for homeowners. This has been driven by the public grant funding landscape, which has encouraged suppliers to chunk off parts of the delivery to reduce potential liability and compliance overhead. It’s acknowledged that this approach leads to inefficiencies and poor customer service in public grant funded projects which will definitely not work for the “able-to-pay” market.. A market which is

approximately 15 million homes in the UK and there is no national strategy to retrofit and decarbonise these.

Furbnow differentiates by staying with customers all the way through the retrofit process. We provide impartial advice and aim to empower our customers to make informed decisions to act, while removing key pain points in the retrofit process.
